ABOUT NIDO
Welcome to Nido
For children ages 6 weeks to 18 months —
The Montessori Nido program is designed around the belief that infants are born with tremendous potential, eager to learn, explore, and try new things. The classroom, in light of the infant’s need for routine and consistency, will allow for freedom of movement while gently stimulating the naturally curious infant. A flexible schedule will allow each child to eat, sleep, or play according to their own unique internal rhythm. The activities will support and encourage language development, practical life skills, eye-hand coordination, along with gross and fine motor abilities in a warm and loving environment.
Our guides are highly trained and experienced in Montessori education. With a ratio of 1 to 3, each child is lovingly cared for and supported to learn independent skills.
Currently, our Nido program is full and we are only conducting tours for openings in 2027.

nido environment & communityOur Nido community has 3 highly trained Guides that gently support the growth and development of 8 students between the ages of 6 weeks to 18 months.
Our beautiful, spacious classroom offers light-filled, open areas for each child to work and play, with materials and furniture designed just for them.
We follow an authentic Montessori curriculum.
nido outdoor spaceOur playground is designed by Green Space Learning, which specializes in early childhood and Montessori learning. With open space, a hill, and a slide, children in Nido are provided opportunities for large muscle movement and the benefits of outdoor play in a space created just for them.
For our Nido community, we also have a smaller, turfed area that allows for a safe, relaxing area to spend time outdoors.

Lead Guide, Nido
AMI 0-3 Certification (in progress)
Hello! My name is Victoria Castaneda and I have worked as a Montessori Guide for the past three years in both Nido and Toddler communities. I’m thrilled to now be working at Cathedral Montessori with our youngest learners as they begin their Montessori journey.
In our Nido community, I aim to create a calm, loving environment where each child can explore, grow, and develop independence at their own pace. I truly enjoy watching children discover new things and gain confidence in themselves; it’s such a special stage of development.
I am currently completing my certification in AMI 0 - 3 Assistant to Infancy at the Montessori Institute of North Texas.
