ABOUT
TODDLER
Welcome to Toddler
For children ages 18 months to 3 years —
The Montessori Toddler program is an active, self-paced learning environment for all five senses. Children are introduced to the five areas of the Montessori curriculum, including: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Culture, and develop competence through repetition and practice.
Between the ages of two and three, toddlers move through sensitive periods for language, order, small objects, toilet training, music, grace and courtesy, and the senses. The design of the Toddler classroom and the educational materials within reflect these interests and provide rich opportunities for learning that nurture children’s complete development.
Similarly, the daily routine reflects this age groups’ need to learn through movement and hands-on experience, while embracing the children’s individual needs, interests, and learning style.
Our guides are highly trained and experienced in Montessori education. With a ratio of 1 to 6, each child is lovingly cared for and supported to learn independent skills.
Toddler Environment & Community
We have two Toddler communities of twelve students, each with a highly trained and experienced Lead Toddler Guide and Assistant Guide. The Guides gently support the growth and development of each student between the ages of 18 months to 3 years old. Our beautiful, spacious classrooms offer light-filled environments for each child to work and play, with materials designed just for them.
Toddler Outdoor Space
Our playground is designed by Green Space Learning, which specializes in early childhood and Montessori learning. With open space, a hill, and a slide, children in the Toddler program are provided opportunities for large muscle movement and the benefits of outdoor play in a space created just for them.
About Our Lead Toddler Guides
Hello! My name is Lexus and I am an AMI 0-3 Assistant to Infancy certified educator through the Montessori Institute of North Texas. My Montessori journey began when I was just 13 years old—and I’ve never looked back! Over the years, I’ve had the joy of serving in many roles, including classroom assistant, guide, and Director of Administration. I’m also a proud mom to three beautiful children who inspire me daily and remind me why I’m so passionate about the work I do. I believe deeply in the Montessori philosophy and feel honored to be part of a community that nurtures each child’s growth, independence, and natural curiosity. I’m incredibly proud to be part of the beautiful community here at Cathedral Montessori, and I look forward to supporting you and your child on this meaningful journey.
